Gail Porter: Teacher of Developmental/Cognitive Delay (DCD)
Our Special Education Classroom
This was taken in Bryce Canyon, Utah.
We are a little more than half way through the year. With all of our snow days we have been getting so far, it seems like we’ll never get to Spring.
Since school began, we have seen some new people joining us in our room.
The first one was the new addition of a paraprofessional. Mr. Dom has been fitting in nicely, and all the students enjoy having him around.
We have also welcomed a student teacher to our program. Taylor Turner is a student through Mankato University. She joined us in the middle of January and will be with us until May 8. After getting to know your child and their goals, Ms. Turner will then begin taking over the teaching in our program, until she graduates. She will be a wonderful teacher wherever she goes.
Some of you have met her when stopping into the room or at your child’s IEP meetings. If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet her, stop in and introduce yourself.
Have a great rest of the school year.
