Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Hello! My name is Sheila Pitzen, and I am so excited to be teaching 2nd grade  this year. Second grade is such a wonderful year of growth —students become more confident readers, curious problem-solvers, and thoughtful friends.

I believe that every child has unique gifts, and my goal is to create a classroom where all students feel valued, encouraged, and inspired to do their best. In our classroom, we focus not only on academics, but also on kindness, respect, and working together as a community.

A little about me: I have 15 years of teaching experience but have been in education for the last 24 years. Teaching has always been my passion, and I feel honored to be a part of your child’s learning journey. When I’m not teaching, I like to garden, go camping, do some traveling, or spending time with family.

I look forward to partnering with you this year! Communication between home and school is so important, and I welcome your questions, ideas, and involvement. Together, we can make this year an exciting and successful one for your child.
