Updated Attendance at Indoor Events

MSHSL Update: Each player for indoor athletics will be allowed to have 2 people attend as long they follow some rather strict guidelines.

School administrators and the Activities Director met this morning and put together the following plan on very short notice.   The conference Activities Directors will meet next week and hopefully develop a unified plan to be used for the remainder of the fall.

Mr. Rosaaen and Mr. Sloan met with all volleyball players in grades 7-12 earlier today.  Each girl was given 2 tickets for this evening’s matches.  The girls can distribute these tickets to anyone that they want, but they are only allowed 2 tickets.  For 9-12 grade players, the ticket needs to be presented to a ticket taker at the Legacy entrance.   To have “contact tracing”, all tickets will need to have the person’s first and last name and phone number written onto the back of the ticket.  This way the district can track everyone that attended the game.  Please have this done before arriving.   All fans will also need to purchase a ticket for $6.  We ask that people bring exact change if possible.

For junior high players, they will use the same ticket method only there will be no charge for their admission.  They still must have a ticket to be allowed into the gymnasium.

Key things to remember:

Fans of lower level teams are allowed to remain in the gymnasium until the conclusion of play if the wear their face covering and continue to use social distancing.

While at the events, fans and participants are not allowed to intermingle.

Following the conclusion of play, all fans and participants must leave the building immediately.

On a separate note, the district was given new information yesterday regarding bus transportation.  New guidelines state that if a single person on a school bus tests positive for Covid-19 that every single person on the bus must quarantine.  For this reason the district will allow parents to transport their child to athletic events as long as they have informed the Activities Director by 3:00 on the day of the event.  If transporting your child to an event, it is important that you have them at the site at the time the coach requests.  If parents want to only transport their child home, they will be allowed to do so as long as they have informed the Activities Director.
