COVID Testing:
This is an informational update that the School district and Health office are working on plans to start voluntary COVID testing at the school in the near future. There will be take home tests available as well as a rapid test which can be used if a student is symptomatic to help eliminate or confirm if a student is COVID positive. Stay tuned for more specific details on this process
Vaccination:
GM school will be a vaccination site for students aged 5-11. Again, this will be a voluntary option for students and families to consider. At this time, the district is working with Mower County Public Health to offer this service at the school with a tentative date of November 15th for the first shot clinic.
Daylight Savings Time:
Please remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday, November 6th even though Daylight savings time does not officially start until 2 AM on November 7th
COVID Update:
It has been a roller coaster at times with the number of students and staff on quarantine since the start of the school year. We have been near or above established thresholds a few times, but the district has been able to maintain a status quo in regard to maintaining the learning model that is currently in place. Currently, the district has 3 active cases in grades K-12 and no faculty members are currently quarantined due to being COVID positive. Thank you for your efforts to help minimize exposures and following along with the guidance that is established for this school year.
Last day of first quarter:
November 11th is the last day of first quarter. Take time to utilize the parent portal and check to make sure your children are staying caught up on their schoolwork or connect with your child’s teachers
Upcoming No student day:
Friday, November 12th is a no student day. Teachers will be working on planning, preparation and finalizing first quarter grades
