MN DNR Youth Firearms Safety Certification

If you have a GM Student that wants to earn their MN DNR Firearms Safety Certificate or wants to join the GMHS Clay Target Team in the future, please read on and take action as needed.

Grand Meadow Community Education and the MN DNR will be hosting a Youth Firearms Safety Class.  This will be a hybrid class, with the student completing the MN DNR online course followed by an in-person Field Day on July 22, 2023 from 10:00AM - 4:00PM at the Grand Meadow Gun Club.  To participate the student must be 11 years old or older when they start the online course.  The online course costs $25 and is paid by credit card when you start.  The online course typically takes 12 hours to complete and the student works at their own pace, but it must be completed before July 22.  After the student completes the online course, they print a voucher that allows them to attend an in-person Field Day where they'll earn their Firearms Safety Certificate.  That Field Day will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM at the GM Gun Club, and will cost $7.50.  The Field Day will be limited to 28 students, first come first serve.

If you have a student that's interested in earning a Firearms Safety Certificate, please first make sure they can attend the Field Day on July 22 from 10:00AM - 4:00PM, then send an email to Lead Instructor Greg Lamp at 77greglamp@gmail.com that includes the responsible adult's name and phone number along with the student's name and age and I'll send you details on how to get started.

Any questions, please email Greg Lamp at 77greglamp@gmail.com or call 507-754-5908.
