Prior to last year, the 5K run/walk was an event which helped raise funds for various causes at the school. This year, the 5k run/walk is back, but with a different focus. Please read below for more information on the 5K run/walk occurring during Meadow fest this year.
Meadowfest Walk/Jog - Story behind "Lion's Hope" Organization
Bryce and Joclyn Benson started Lion's Hope for kids like their son, Leo. Bryce was a 2013 graduate of GM and Joclyn was a 2013 graduate of Kingsland and a former teacher at GM.
Their son Leo was born with Spina Bifida, a disability with no cure, but a disability that can be improved through things like therapy and adaptive equipment (walkers, knee immobilizers, etc). There are items that are covered by insurance, but there are some children who will not qualify for these items and/or therapies. Quality of life is definitely affected by the access to these items! Our goal is to raise funds for the families out there that need help purchasing these items or therapies for their kids! We personally know how much is on the plates of parents, especially those who have special needs kiddos.
Please consider walking, jogging or donating to this AWESOME organization!
Join us in raising funds for our nonprofit, Lion's Hope!
