Service Learning~Evacuation Drill~Truck Driving Demo~Finals Schedule

Service Learning:

A huge thanks to all of the students, staff and faculty for the many hours they put in on Friday, May 4th. It was a great day and a lot of projects were completed.  Hopefully, you had a minute or two to talk with your children about the projects they did on Friday.

Evacuation Drill:

Tomorrow, May 8th, Grand Meadow Public School will be practicing an evacuation drill.  We are approaching this drill just like the other drills we do each and every year, such as a fire drill, lock down and take cover.  We are practicing the drill so we can check on logistics, travel time to the Emergency site (EMS building) and for local and county law enforcement, ambulance and fire departments to check on their response times.

Truck Driving Demonstration:

Attached are some pictures of students learning about truck driving and getting a chance to drive a "Big Rig" under the guidance of Truck Driving Instructor Jonathan Rymers.  Thanks to Riverland Community College And Valley Transportation for having their rigs at the school today for students to learn more about a career in Truck Driving.

Finals Schedule:

Listed below is the finals schedule for the High School.  This schedule has been shared with the students, but we will be putting this schedule in the E-News a couple of times prior to finals week so parents are aware of the schedule.  Please encourage your child(ren) to get plenty of rest, eat well and prepare themselves for the end of the year assessments.  This is a modified schedule that extends each hour to allow more time for students to take their assessment.
