School Pictures:
Another quick reminder that Friday, September 7th is School picture day. Please make sure your child(ren) dress appropriately.
School Bus Safety:
On Friday, September 7th all of the students will be learning about how to act/react in case of an emergency on a bus. Ask your children about what the learned about bus safety when they come home on Friday after school.
D.E.A.R:
What is D.E.A.R? D.E.A.R. stands for Drop Everything And Read. GM school will have one or two times a month where everyone stops what they are doing and read for 30-45 minutes. The first time we will be having a DEAR time will be on Wednesday, September 12th at 8:15 AM for 45 minutes. We EXPECT all students to have a book with them at all times when at school.
Pizza with the Principals:
Another fun project to promote reading that Mr. Schwarz and Mr. Besel will be doing this year again will be Pizza with the Principals. When a principal “catches” a student with a book, they will be given a card to put their name on. The card will be placed in a bucket in the elementary or secondary office. Once a month the principals will draw names to have pizza with them and talk about their favorite books and what they like to learn more about when they read..
Please help support these two programs by encouraging your child to read at home and keep a book with them at all times; because you never know when you may have a few minutes to read
