Math Facts/ECFE Classes/Vaping Training/Weight Watchers

Math Fact Mastery:

Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division:  The basic facts are the foundation of being proficient in all aspects of math and math related subjects.  Grand Meadow school has rolled out a goal of having 90 percent of all students in grades 4-12 have a 90 percent or greater mastery of the basic facts by May 1st.

Math Fluency:  The ability to know and recall basic facts with speed and accuracy.

The students in K-3 are still in the process of number recognition and working on addition and subtraction. Grade 3 is just starting to introduce multiplication, which is why the target grades are 4th-12th for the 90 percent goal for all facts.  The younger grades will have the same targets but for the facts they have been taught.

Educating children is a partnership with the school, parents, and teachers. We need your help to meet not only this math goal, but for all aspects of the educational process.

Practice math facts with your children as you go from place to place or a home.  Flash cards, math fact apps and time tests are a just a few things you can do with your child at home to help support what we are doing at school to help students master their math facts.  So, when your child says they do not have any homework, ask them if they have mastered their basic math facts, and if they say no, ask them to practice and then quiz them.

If you have any questions about this goal, please connect with your child’s teacher(s).
