Athletic Physicals/Concussion Testing/Fall Sports Meeting

Athletic Physicals

Anyone that will be participating in any athletic program during the 2019-20 school year,  must have a physical on record in the Athletic Director’s office that is less than 3 years old.  Typically, if a student gets a physical in 7th grade and then another in 10th grade they are covered.  Physicals for girls will be free of charge from noon - 3:00 pm at Dr. Dillon Denisen’s office on July 30th.  Boys physicals will be free of charge on July 31 from noon - 3:00 pm at Dr. Denisen’s office.  Physicals are being funded by the school’s athletic advertising account.  Physicals are free of charge on these 2 dates only.

Concussion Testing

Baseline Concussion Testing will be offered on August 7th in the high school computer lab.  Testing sessions will start promptly at 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00.  Each session begins at the top of the hour.  Any student that reports after the top of the hour must wait until the next session.  Concussion testing is not mandatory but is very strongly recommended.  This is the only date the school will be offering testing.  Anyone who can not attend on this date but would like to have their child tested should contact their physician. Concussion testing is being funded by the school’s athletic advertising account.

Fall Sports Meeting

The fall sports meeting will be held in the Legacy gym at 6:00 pm on August 7th.  All students in grades 7-12 that plan on participating in volleyball, cross country or football should attend.  Parents should attend with their child as important team information and forms will be distributed.  Jim Williams, Mayo Clinic Certified Athletic Trainer, will also be presenting concussion information at this meeting.  Minnesota state law requires each school district to provide concussion training on an annual basis.
