Your E-Learning Assignment is to read and complete a reading Journal

  1. I expect you to read for at least 15-30 minutes
  2. Then write your Reading Journal
  3. Reading Journals must be at least 4 sentences summarizing what you read.
  4. Summaries only include the important details; you do not need to include everything you read.
  5. They also are not just quotations from the book.
5th Grade Social Studies
For your Social Studies E-Learning Assignment, I would like you to complete a "This Day in History"
  1. Go to https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history
  2. Once there, find an event that interests you and write a summary containing who, what, where, when, and why as best as you can and submit it on Google Classroom or Turn it in when we come back to school.
    1. Who (Who are the people/country that is the focus of the story?)
    2. What (What is the story about?)
    3. Where (If not already stated tell me what country it is in.)
    4. When (What year did it happen)
    5. Why (Tell me why it is important.)
  3. If you miss one of those don't worry still submit it. Try your Best!
8th Grade
For Your E-Learning Assignment, I would like you to do a current event summary. You will write a paragraph summarizing a recent current event. Below are the directions and expectations.
  1. Watch the news or find an article either in the newspaper or online from a credible news source.
  2. Cannot be more than a Week Old! 
  3. It Cannot be about entertainment/Gossip!
  4. After watching the news or reading an article please write a short paragraph about it. Below is what I want you to include in your paragraph!
    1. Who (Who are the people/country that is the focus of the story?)
    2. What (What is the story about?)
    3. Where (If not already stated tell me what country it is in.)
    4. Why (Tell me why is it important.)
    5. Tell me why you chose this story ( Because it was the easiest is not an acceptable answer!)
  5. Turn in the assignment the next time we have class or on Google Classroom.
