Welcome to Grand Meadow 7th and 8th Grade Football

Coaches

About Me: I am a teacher here at Grand Meadow, and I'm entering my 6th year. This is my 5th year coaching Junior High football here at Grand Meadow. Before that, I coached at Durand High School from 2014-2019, where I worked with Varsity, JV, and Freshman Offensive Linemen. In 7th and 8th Grade Football, we will work with the players to introduce them to the game of football and work on the fundamentals. Learning the basic skills in 7th and 8th grade will be an important first step to developing the rest of their skills for football.

About Me:
My name is Wyatt Garten, and I am the Ag teacher at Grand Meadow, and I am entering my 3rd year. This is my 2nd year coaching Junior High football at Grand Meadow. I grew up in Owatonna and played football up through 10th grade, but have never lost my love for the game. My favorite part of coaching 7th and 8th grade football is getting to help the kids develop skills that they will be able to carry over to JV and Varsity.

Summer Workout
Football is a tough sport to play, it requires toughness and conditioning to succeed. If you are not participating in the "TPC Summer/Fall Strength and Conditioning" and are still looking for something to help you prepare for the upcoming season, here are some exercises that will help get you ready. These are NOT required; however, it is encouraged that you do one or the other to maximize your conditioning to help make your season successful. If you have questions, please let me know:
