School Board Election Filing Information

NOTICE OF FILING DATES FOR ELECTION TO THE SCHOOL BOARD 

GRAND MEADOW 

STATE OF MINNESOTA 

 

Grand Meadow I.S.D.  No. 495 is giving notice that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board will begin on August 2, 2022 and will close on August 16, 2022. 

The general election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  Four (4) seats will be filled at this election. Three (3) members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four (4) years each. One (1) member will be elected to fill a vacancy to the School Board for a term of two (2) years.  

The filing fee for this office is $2.00.  A candidate filing for this office must: 

  • be an eligible voter, 
  • 21 years of age by the time they assume office, 
  • must be a resident of the school district for at least thirty (30) days before the general election, 
  • is not registered as a convicted sex offender, and  
  • must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same general election. 

    Affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the office of the Superintendent along with the filing fee prior to August 16, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.  Office hours are Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.  On August 16, 2022, the office will remain open until 5:00 p.m.
